Proverbs 31 Woman in the making.....

2013 National Kidney Walk
Paramus, New Jersey
Team COOL BEANS

Wow this weekend, was exhausting to say the least.  The last few weeks, we've been faced with many challenges.  Lord knows when I kneel and pray; but looks like the devil knows too.

It's never a surprise to me, that when things starting going great, the enemy knows when to rain on your parade.

Things have been going great in the Perez household, few bumps along the road in raising/refereeing two young girls...but we are learning from each other along the way.

These past few weeks we've faced challenges, but we stand strong taking the punches in the full Armor of God.

About two weeks ago we learned that my husband has a Kidney Disease called IgA Nephropathy (say what?).  Yeah! That was our reaction too.  That same week the National Kidney Foundation was having their annual Kidney Walk, so I signed up immediately; thinking, this should shine the light a little on this situation.  We walk together aware, and in complete support of each other, not to mention there would be literature, etc. bringing awareness to ourselves and others.

Within that short week, I was able to design a shirt using some clipart pics and got it to a screen printer who was able to print 15 shirts for our team "Cool Beans" (get it? Kidney Beans)....Thank you All Court in Passaic, NJ

So we walked in support of each other and to bring awareness to others.  Take a look at some pics by clicking on this link: https://plus.google.com/photos/109119078777279491313/albums/5872341544969847825

As we become more knowledgeable of IgA Nephropathy we'll share some thoughts.  Until then, we are experimenting on new recipes, considering Eric's new Renal Diet, and I'll post some along the way.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel.  We stand in faith.

Hiking @ Overlook & Hoeferlin Loop in the Ramapo Mountains was great.  Spent some tranquil time with my daughter Angelina and saw some beautiful views with some calm streams along the way.
